SHAF R-102

The SHAF R-102 was the last aircraft designed by Antonius Raab Aeronautical Laboratory, in 1972. It was a scaled up Lockheed JetStar, powered by four Aerodyne TF110-AD-50, the first turbofan engine of Aerodyne Engines. With the fan at the back, TF110-AD-50 and the more powerful TF110-AD-65 (6,750 lbf instead of 5,000 lbf) were similar with the General Electric CJ805. TF110 reached 10,500 lbf of thrust during developing trails, but production engines were downgrated for maximum possible fuel economy. Fuselage of R-102 had exactly the same diameter with the JetStar, but it had a more efficient wing, allowing in to reach high subsonic speed at altitube. Prototype actually break marginally the sound barrier in dive during trails. The R-102B was longer and had also larger wing with increased fuel capacity and extra pinion tanks, enough to cross Atlantic from Athens flying at economic speed under two engines. Approximately 160 airframes build total, most in civilian hands from 1976 to 1989.

Only military users were Hellenic Kingdom and Cyprus (latter had the MP variant with Guardian radar and ISI Serapis Mk2 MIMS). The R-102MP had eight pylons, two under the fuselage (similar with F-104G) and three under each wing (of which inner were "'wet"). Fuselage pylons were the strongest, capable of suppoting AM-39 or Gabriel IIIAS missiles while rest hold various pods (gun, rocket) or TP-1/TP-2 torpedoes. RHAF R-102EW were regular visitors of Paphos Air Base, while Cypriot 446th Naval Regiment had also 8-10 R-57CS.

Note that from all those 102 design numbers about half remained on paper, because Raab numbered every design-even marginally changed from previous. Among his designs were microlites, sail planes, fighters, bombers, transport aircrafts, small private aircraft, Some designs sold to other countries as well, among these "export" designs were microlites, sailplanes and small private aircraft.

Sud Aviation SA321 Super Frelon

The Frelon was the first large helicopter of Hellenic Kingdom, entering sevice in 1969, when Olympic Airlines purchased four SA321J for connected remote islands before the extensive islandic airport consruction program. Navy and Army Aviation order 8 each in 1970, of SA321E variant. There were serious thoughts in mid 1970's within RHN to convert them to ASW, but finally nothing happened and remaining simple transport helicopters. An indigenous mine warfare system was designed in 1980's and entered service, with equipment on sled and containerised electronics in fuselage, creating the -MS variant. All eight Navy units were rebuilt with Turbomeca Makila engines (derated to 1600hp) in 1990's by HAI, while Army airframes passed in Hellenic Petroleum and received also rebuilt. OA airframes had already dismantled for spares in mid 1980's, except one which is on display. In theory, only Lysander Class cruisers and Aretousa LSS can accomodate these large helicpoters, on latter has been displayed a SAR variant of SA321E, painted grey/orange-typical RHAF SAR colors.

Design is outdated, but I have found newer one.

Kimon II Class DDG

I thought transfer TT inside, like all large RHN units from 1972. I am not sure if this can be done however. Concerning the ships themshelves, third unit (D 226 Formion) passed to trials stage and will enter service in March 2015. During 2014 Defensys Military Excibition was announced by Ministry of Defense that two more units will be built, D 227 Fokion and D 228 Alkiviades, recycling the names of old Konon Mk1 frigates. These new units will be of Kimon IIA type, with several improvements.

All Kimon II/IIA have 48-cell Mk41 VLS and so far these missile loads have been tested in exercises.

Nice looking additions.
Sometimes Your ideas for this AU are better, sometimes... not so much better ( ;) ), but I really admire amount of effort You put into Your AU.

 Another idea for internal TT for this ship is to use the double tubes of S-Class frigates.

I think the credit line is incomplete
I also doubt the hull could take that gun.....

That KDX II design had the US Mk45. In my version I have fitted the OTO Melara 127/54 LW.

Other than the sheer size difference between the 127/64LW and Mk45 MOD 4 the weight difference is negligible.

33 Metric tons for the Oto Melara mount sans ammunition, 28 Metric Tons for the Mk45 sans ammunition. Recoil forces should be near enough identical as they share ammunition, so I don't really see an issue.
