Oh and if anyone feels like it, here's a blueprint of the Mk 26 Thunderbolt, a power driven quad mount developed late in the war that saw use on a limited number of US battleships.

Excellent find. I've got a Thunderbolt drawn up somewhere, but it was crude and scaled by eye.

A very simplistic drawing of the USN Fleet class USV. Apparently they did missile launching tests from one recently, but havent found a pic of one with the weapons packages onboard. They're designed to match the weight and handling limits of a rigid-hulled inflatable boat. Think mine might be a bit larger than actual SB scale.

No offense but they look like lack of details.

I'm glad we have you around; always nice when you can write a one-line post with no further explanation than "they lack detail". Why don't you give this guy some advice that he can actually use? Such as what details should be provided, where to find the parts he might need to fix the drawing, etc?

colo has an point here. but I will step up for that now, as I am one of the few people who have drawn an USV before (the protector, to be exact) and as the one who planned to do quite a few of these USN USV's when better resources came available.

first of all, references.

from these, I can make a few comments now already.
- yes, it lack details, but first try to get the basic shape correct. in a quick search, I did not find the 2 versions you seem to have, but I might be wrong on that.
- an unit like this must have an underwater hull on the drawing. it will most likely be used placed on the deck of our ship drawings, so without an underwater hull it cannot be used.
- try to show some of the shape. right now, these could have landing craft hulls, as far as we can see.
- then add detailing, indeed.

good luck!

Does anyone have a good copy of the quad 40mm Bofors mount with the blast shield surrounding it? The one I have is designed to sit in a gun tub and I don't think it accurately portrays the mount.

At our scale actually a bit underwhelming. It must have been a seriously cramped thing to sit in:

Change Log for Version 1.7:
  • Talos Length Corrected - this will be an easy update to push forward to the ships as there were only a total of 3 classes and 7 ships that had the system

Please, in the name of all you hold dear get rid of that horribly out of scale 40mm Bofors. The properly sized one can be found in the post just above yours.
Edit: And the 20mm Oerlikons as well
