You're getting there Zephyr and nice to see you back in the pixel bashing game. Best thing to do about the guns and director placement is have a look at Indomitable/ Implacable and you can't go far wrong. :geek:

The 40mm director on the aft part of the island iss being blocked by the aft HACS so you might want to move it up a level.
Also, you can probably loose the director on the side of the island now that the directors have been moved to the corners.

The aft island 40mm director isn't directly behind the 4.5" director, they're offset, if that makes any difference.

I know, but you still can't see through it, so it'll still obstruct a significant part of your field of fire. Move it up a deck and all that goes away.

something else I've been fiddling with for awhile, also very much a WIP, a late armoured cruiser, laid down around 1910 and completed about 1914. A result of the more conservative elements in the design bureau, she was obsolete nearly as soon as she touched the water. Only 2 were built, with just one surviving the war. The single survivor, Orion, was converted to a seaplane carrier/tender in 1922.

still needs a lot of work.

Maybe a flying bridge would be more suitable for the time period.

I like it but I find the casemate arrangement odd. Upper deck casemates are rare in this period but they make sense for seakeeping and being able to use the guns in heavy seas. So I find it odd the four 3-4in casemates in the bow and stern remain. There is probably room for 12 such guns topside rather than the 8 you currently have. Looking good so far though.
