Making progress and listening! Stick with the midget sub for a bit! The next step on that one would be to emulate shading and highlights from other folks work. Then stick it on the smallest template.

The guns you are using are WW2-era 127mm cannons and not the actual 105mm used on the Cormoran.

That reference drawing has about 10 times the detail your drawing has. Scale it to SB scale and "trace it" it should turn out pretty good
