November 1942 - Operation Torch. The largest force of the Texas Armed Forces yet assembled participates in Operation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa. The Naval and Air contingents are depicted here:

[ img ]

The Ground contingent consists of 3400 Texas Marines organized in a brigade of three battalion landing teams, and most of the Second Infantry Division. The division's trains and cavalry regiment were off-loaded later in port, along with the 35th Armored Cavalry Brigade.

I thought I would post it just to give an indication of how massive an effort mobilization is for a country.

I applaud the work that goes in to producing a fleet scenario such as your one above, just finding names for all the different ships can be a problem all on its own.

I would suggest that the 3 destroyer flotillas you have would not be as mixed up as you show. The oldest 3 funnel Hillsboro type for escorting the transports would probably be a group of 4 with an Onalaska type as leader. Groupings of 4 with a 'better' leader would give you better tactical options. The Hillsboro type were probably the oldest/slowest destroyers on show, so you do not want to slow down all the ships in the group.

Does RofT have a carrier to provide air support? or are you working with the Brits and main US carriers for air support?

Those look great, Redhorse!

In fact, I feel quite bad for asking this question ... the attack transports have a few different types of dazzle camo (four, if I counted right) - but the attack cargo ships only seem to have one sort of dazzle camo? Did the RoT Navy only produce one scheme for those types of ships? (Even if the answer is "I got sick of doing dazzle camo" that still works as an answer for me!)

Regards,
Adam

No. I rushed. I wanted to do a unique scheme for each ship, but I was starting to bog down.
