I stand corrected on the gun (although the forward hull construction will need modifications for the larger base ring)
(navweaps lists 23 and 30 tons though, which might just be enough to be an issue? what are your sources, blackbuck?)

BAE lists the differing weights for different arrangements in their literature for the Mk.45. The lighter weight doesn't include the lower deck hoists, only the one to the immediate below deck. Nor does it include the ERGM handling facilities (which Imagine would be contemporary to the Vulcano handling systems for the LW). BAE State that the gun system sans fluids and lower hoist weighs 24,389kg. With the full system they say 28,924kg...

ah, that makes the difference: I think navweaps lists only the mounting itself, so the gun, turret and the ready use magazine.
that said, if the Mk 45 is the same weight as an 127/54 LW stealth, why would anyone use the Mk 45? something's off here.....

Because people like buying American things? Alternatively, as I see it in the Oto Melara literature the 33,000kg might well be for just one carousel below the mount deck. So for parity there would be another 3 decks worth of carousel weight to add which would probably take it up to about 37,000kg maybe slightly more... So I guess the disparity isn't really there.

doesn't look too bad, there need to be some refinements but you will get to those when you proceed, I think :P

Hmm something seems a little 'off' with the layout.

A quick tinker with the original line schematic and I came up with this. I 'think' it looks more balanced than the current arrangement, that said all the adjustments are rough and not meant to be 100% representative of anything.

This is more balanced indeed. I thought funnels angled outwards like LCF or KDXI to avoid smoke on the S1850. Where do you place SSM in your design?

When draw the first lines in my computer I placed 64- cell VLS but reduced it to 48-cell. Just not sure.
