IAI was designed in Israel in the late 1960s, having in mind being the replacement of the the ubiquitous Douglas DC-3/C-47. With an excellent STOL capability, Arava was rough and reliable. And armed version (2 side blisters for MaDeuce heavy MG, one more i the tailcone, and two hardpoints in the fuselage for rockets (either 68, 70 or 82 mm) was marketed and sold to several Air Forces, mainly in Central and South America. Cheers.

Arava was always the little son of Noratlas. Very similar layout and clamshell rear doors.

Point of contention: Chikuma was not a member of CruDiv 7 in August 1942...she and Tone were not transferred to CruDiv 7 until CruDiv 8 was deactivated on 1 January 1944.

That being said, excellent work on the aircraft!

P.S. I decided to experiment a bit and dedicated this week to making fleet history of a single airline. Wish me luck in this endeavour!
