One Rotodyne in the colours of British Air Ferries flying from cross-Channel car ferry duties in the 1960s.
The first of a few Kaman-built versions, here is a New York Airways example, the first airline to really show any interest in the Rotodyne. Had things gone better they may have had a fleet of between 5 and 25. Note the American turboprops on this American built example.

This just gets better :D I know this has to be asked, but why did the Rotodyne fail? At a guess, the consolidation of Fairey into Westland wouldn't have helped, what with the Westminster, Belverdere etc.

That's not necessary a British thing. All countries suffer from it, some more some less. The correct way of allocating limited funds is the true 21th century science.

Hood magnificent work, and looking in anticipation for more.

I've always been fascinated by the Rotodyne (and the gyrodyne concept overall) and now I'm also fascinated by these amazing drawings. My compliments.
