Yes, the Sea King, Huey, Cobra, Chinook and Apache just keeps falling out of the sky.
(All those designs were at the cutting edge of technology when they were introduced. Some of them still are.)

I agree with Thiel in that I'd lower the VLS and gun to the main deck level (and maybe move one pair of CIWS aft), and with Rhade about helicopter design - it looks cool, but wouldn't work well.

Rhade - maybe You are from Eastern Europe, but I'm from Central. :P
As for the rest of this opinion - 100% agree. :D

By that logic neither the Fulcrum nor the Nighthawk were high tech designs.
The idea that all rusian equipment work and all US equipment fails is a myth dreamed up by AK-47 fanboys who have no qualms about comparing the reliability of US prototypes with Rusian service equipment.

Thiel - We're making an offtop here, but I wouldn't exactly call those arm-blowing M16's issued to US troops in Vietnam "prototypes". ;)

I mean that russians tech are build to last, work in bad conditions, primitive technical resources and unqualified personel. If the WWIII will come the only thing will survive will be cockroach, woman and russian tech. About AK-47 ( I'm more fan of 74 model ) it is the greates assault rifle ever created, simple, reliable and it will never jam. ;) US equipment is complex, effective ect: but it need continuous service from highly qualified personnel and good base. We know this "shit" man ... our Fulcrums may stay outside hangar in - 30C, in the morrning you will walk to them, smash the ice, fuel up and fly away. Our new F-16 need to stay in air-conditioned hangars with proper humidity of air ect: if not they will not fly, they will not start.

OFFTOP to the bone! :D

Neither would I call the face eating original version of the AK-47 one. (There's a reason why they made a new version in 1950. The original receiver had a nasty tendency to fail dramaticaly) But that's a moot point since I wasn't talking about the M16, but the general trend.

I still have to add some CIWS to the rear, I just haven't done that yet.
The helicopter is just a place holder. I am working on a version of the Ranger with wheels, so that it will be more suited for operation on a ship.

Navies of Chile and Ecuador were (are) using shipborne B206 Rangers with torpedos, but I'm afraid that You won't make a decent ASW platform from a helicopter this size (in a similar category, there is also a maritime version of AS-555 Fennec). And using them on a dedicated helicopter carrier is bit like putting 2-inch cannon into a M1 Abrams battle tank.

EDIT: Though I probably should note, that a B206/AS-555-sized helicopter could perhaps be still useful as a shipborne helo for escorts (more towards larger AS-555). But for a CVH I'd opt for something able to carry more electronics and armament, like SH-3, SH-60, Super Frelon etc.

Could You kindly tell me, to whom was directed this remark about imbeciles? Or, in other words, who are those imbeciles?
Once upon a time You posted this:

http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2

Would You be so kind to explain me, please, how the word "imbeciles" relates to point 11 of that post of Yours?
