History

The AN/SPG-62 is an guidance radar developed for use with the RIM-66 missile. The first installation was commissioned onboard the AEGIS cruiser CG-47 Ticonderoga in 1983. The SPG-62 is part of the Mk 99 FCS

the AN/SPG-63 shares the antenna with the SPG-62.

The SPG-62 is still in active use by many USN and foreign ships, all of them using the AEGIS system.
